Voted as our favourite bus action photo from April, was Durham County Council and their rear bus advert for ‘Invincible’; the show being performed at Durham’s Gala Theatre early in May. This picture was taken by Lorraine McGillivray, (Lottie), our Regional Account Manager for the North East.
‘Invincible’ was written by Torben Betts and is about a couple who are forced to move from London to a small town in the North due to the recession and the performance was led by Emily Bowker and Graeme Brookes.
The Bus Advertising Campaign
Durham County Council took two rear bus adverts on Scarlet Band bus company in the North East, to run for four weeks from the start of April. These buses were random routed, giving widespread exposure to the North East.
These 60×20 inch advertisements sit dominantly on the back of the bus, at perfect eye-level for motorists as well as pedestrians. The extended dwell time of these bus adverts was perfect for the public to make a note of where the performance was being held, with Durham Musical Theatre Company’s box office telephone number, ticket prices and show dates readily available.
